About this walk
This remote barrier island reserve of dunes, shingle and saltmarsh allows dogs under close control from September to March only; dogs are prohibited April to August to protect breeding terns. Access is by seasonal ferry from Burnham Overy Staithe (April to September) or private boat, so plan around both the dog season and tide-dependent crossing. Underfoot is soft sand, shingle ridges and dune, with no shade or facilities on the island.
