About this walk

Forestry England's oldest Forestry Commission planting in England (1919) offers a network of waymarked trails through mixed conifer and broadleaf woodland above the Taw Valley. The Heywood and Flashdown trails give varied loops with occasional views over the Devon hills and a scattering of ancient beech stands.
