About this walk
This out-and-back follows the Lakeside Way from Kielder Castle along the shore to Bakethin Reservoir, a Northumberland Wildlife Trust nature reserve at the head of Kielder Water. Wide, well-surfaced paths make it easy underfoot, with a viaduct crossing and a bird hide en route. It's a quieter, wildlife-focused alternative to the busier main Kielder Water shoreline.
