Hastings is one of the easiest seaside towns in the South East to visit with a dog, because the council splits the seafront into clear zones rather than banning dogs outright. The central beach sections between Rock-a-Nore and the pier carry restrictions from April to September, but St Leonards beach next door welcomes dogs all year, and so do Bulverhythe to the west and Fairlight Cove along the cliffs to the east. In practice you are never more than a short walk from sand your dog is allowed on, whatever the month.
