Sugar Loaf is a National Trust upland summit above Abergavenny, popular with dog walkers for its wide grassy ascent and sweeping views over the Usk Valley. Sheep graze freely across the open hillside, so dogs must stay on a short lead throughout, tightening further near the rocky, uneven summit. No off-lead sections. Steep, loose ground on the final approach means it suits confident, fit dogs and owners on a warm-up walk before harder Beacons routes.
