A traffic-free 10-mile former railway between Marple and Macclesfield; the Bollington-to-Higher Poynton section is the most picturesque, running parallel to the Macclesfield Canal with easy crossovers for a figure-of-eight. Bridges, cuttings and old station platforms give it a distinctive character.
