Kingley Vale National Nature Reserve near Chichester is one of Britain's finest ancient yew woodlands, rising from chalk grassland to Bronze Age burial mounds with sweeping views towards the Solent. The Hidden Landscape Trail is a 4.4 mile loop through gnarled, centuries-old yews and open downland. Dogs are welcome under control, kept on a lead around grazing livestock and wildlife, with small car parks at West Stoke and Stoughton.
