The formal walled gardens and castle ruins at Lowther, near Penrith and Ullswater, are a compact, dog-friendly attraction distinct from the wider Lowther Park estate. Paths are flat, gravelled and easy to navigate around the exhibition, adventure playground and garden rooms.
