Richmond Park: Kingston Gate Circular

The Kingston Gate Circular is one of London's great dog walks, taking in over 11km of Royal Park terrain that covers open grassland, ancient oak woodland and the broad shores of Pen Ponds. Dogs can run free across most of the park for the majority of the year, though they must be kept on lead near the deer between 1 May and 31 July during the calving and fawning season. The route from Kingston Gate heads north past Ladderstile Gate, swings east through Spankers Hill Wood, crosses to Pen Ponds for a splash, then returns via Broomfield Hill and the gardens of Pembroke Lodge.
