Porthcurno is the beach postcard Cornwall photographers cannot resist: white shell sand and turquoise water beneath the Minack's cliffside terraces. For dogs, the arithmetic is simple. Porthcurno and neighbouring Porthgwarra restrict dogs during July and August only; Sennen, up the coast, runs a longer May to September ban, and Gwynver, right beside Sennen, welcomes dogs all year.

That makes the shoulder seasons the time to come. From September to June you can walk the Porthcurno Beach and Minack Circular from our directory, a 3.5 mile coast path loop with the dog, and finish on the sand itself.

Where can you eat with a dog near Porthcurno?
